Regattas are rowing competitions where crews race against teams from other schools or clubs. They are exciting, busy, and sometimes a little confusing for new families — so this page is here to help.
A regatta is a rowing race event. Multiple teams gather at a racecourse, and crews compete in different boat classes and categories.
Depending on the event, races may be organized by:
Varsity or novice level
Boys, girls, or mixed categories
Boat size, such as 8+, 4+, 2x, or 1x
Heat, semifinal, or final progression
Race schedules can change due to weather, timing, water conditions, or event management decisions.
A typical regatta day may include:
Early arrival at the race site
Team tent & kitchen setup
